All three bedrooms in the main house are the same size and have large dressing rooms and beautiful bathrooms. The bedroom downstairs has a King-size bed and is called the "Oriental Room" because of the red silk furnishings and antique bronze Buddhas from Japan. The two upstairs bedrooms both have stunning illuminated brick domed ceilings and are separated by a large private outdoor balcony which is terrific for shade or sun; lying in a hammock or getting an all over tan. One bedroom is called "Las Piñas" which is the "Pineapples" because of it´s dark Tommy Bahama Rattan and Wicker King-size bed and furnishings decorated with pineapple fabrics and a pineapple trimmed rug. This room is also adorned with reproductions of fascinating Mayan artifacts and an original Bill Guynes portrait of a Mayan woman. The second bedroom upstairs is called "Las Cocas" and has two twin beds with white wicker furniture, oriental rugs, coconut palm fabrics and lamps as well as original paintings by Gayle Walker.
The views from Solymar are gorgeous, the elegant and unusual half-moon swimming pool with a backdrop of coral reef, water geysers shooting up into the air and boats sailing by in the ocean. A panoramic view of the aquamarine Caribbean Sea.
Also on the property is an air conditioned guest house or "casita". It is located as a second floor over the large two car garage on one side and, unique for Mexico, a large laundry/storage room with bath for the maid and gardener on the other side. The second floor has a beautiful view of the surrounding gardens and birds. There are two apartments and the first one is called the "Jungle Room" because of the views and furnishings which include lots of wicker furniture and monkey fabrics! It has a King-size bed, sitting area with TV and movies, kitchen and bathroom. The second apartment is now being used as our office but it is a duplicate of the Jungle room with kitchen and bathroom and is also air conditioned.
Solymar is comfortable, beautiful and private, the perfect villa at a still affordable price. Nidia, the maid, is there to keep your villa clean, cook for you, and do pedicure and manicures. Luis, the gardener, will keep the pool clean and garden beautiful, and do any maintenance that has to be done to the villa. It’s a great place to get completely spoiled with salaries so reasonable when compared to USA costs.
Solymar is an experience you should not miss. Elegance and comfort mixed with a Caribbean adventure - a great place to live or have for a second home. The rental income in this area is one of the greatest in Mexico.
