Chemuyil is located between Akumal and Tulum in the Riviera Maya. It

is a very clean Pueblo with proud Mayan inhabitants who work

either in the cities to the north and south, or the all-inclusive resorts along

the coast.

The township has shopping, great Mayan restaurants and a popular pizza

hangout. The area has many cenotes, a monkey reserve and an overpass

from Highway 307 for easy access from either direction. Across the highway is the Caribbean Sea.

The turtle reserve of Xcalcel and Xcalcelito beaches has one of the

highest concentrations of Sea Turtle nests along the coast and is a

spectacular location for a day at the beach without the crowds.

Chan Chemuyil is situated just to the south and is a neighborhood of 226

homes owned mostly by Americans and Canadians. It started out as a

low income housing project for locals. That project was never finished and
instead the area was developed as a

charming neighborhood for second-home buyers. This area also has its own cenote. For rental information and
