It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words but in the case of Casa de Los Pelicanos, mere pictures cannot convey the stunning beauty of this villa which is located in the pristine sanctuary that is Sian Ka’an, Mexico.
Recently completed, this luxury home boasts 3 spacious master suites each with breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea and Campechen Lagoon. The two upper level suites have large terraces and expansive views. Imagine standing in the shower watching the ocean waves lapping up on the sandy beach or gazing out the window above the vanity and seeing the crystal clear lagoon. The ground floor suite has a large deck and is just steps away from the endless sugar sand beach. There is a bonus suite with 4 full-size built-in bunk beds and full bath. The home sits on 7321 M2 (2.3 acres) with 100 meters (328 feet) of sandy beachfront. This home is 315 meters (3,389 sq ft)
The large gourmet kitchen is a cook’s delight. Fine hardwood cabinetry, granite counter-tops, quality hardware shelf pull-outs, Viking range and stove, stainless refrigerator and dishwasher. Plenty of work and storage space makes this kitchen highly functional and a joy to work in, not to mention the view. There is a Reverse Osmosis system with filtered water at the kitchen sink. A large laundry/pantry area is conveniently located next to the kitchen.
The living and dining rooms are large, light and airy and decorated with modern touches while still maintaining the feel of Mexico. The entire home is furnished with great taste and restraint. The hand-made furniture was created by Jose Loria from Merida. The rooftop terrace offers 360 degree views. Watch sunrise and sunset and the pelicans feeding just a few meters away.
This house was built with full attention to the conservation efforts of the biosphere while still offering drinkable water, hot showers, wireless internet, ceiling fans and air conditioning. The home is completely self sufficient. It has a mechanical room located downstairs in the basement. Water tanks located in this room have 2 in-line filters that purify the water and Silver Colloidal for removing bacteria. There is a wind generator and solar panels. Batteries store the energy from the solar and wind, but if batteries are running out of stored energy, a back up generator will turn on.
Caretaker’s facilities with bathroom and kitchenette are located in the basement.
